Jewellery Care

Caratique is meant to be worn on daily basis, but like fine jewellery, it needs extreme care and conditioning. Here are a few tips and tricks you must consider to keep your jewellery looking at its best

How to Wear

  • The more intentional you are about caring for your jewelry, the longer it will last.

  • Remove your jewelry before doing any activity that risks physical damage.

  • As a general care tip, your jewelry should be the last thing you put on before going out and the first thing you remove upon coming home.

How to Store

  • When not being worn, store in a safe, dry place to protect against the elements of daily exposure.

  • Store pieces separately to avoid damage.

  • Ensure pieces are completely dry before storing.

  • Certain metals, like vermeil and sterling silver, can be prone to tarnishing. Rather than the packaging that came with your purchase, we recommend storing your pieces in our jewellery boxes.

Care Guide by Materials

1 / 14KT Solid Gold

  • While 14k gold is made to last a lifetime, it does require gentle care and occasional polishing.

  • To maintain the shine of your jewellery, gently clean it with a soft-bristled brush or cloth using warm water and detergent-free soap,

  • Don’t use abrasive cleaners.

  • Ultrasonic cleaners are safe to use on 14k gold jewelry.

2 / Gold Vermeil
  • Proactive maintenance is key. To keep tarnish from setting in, be sure to clean your pieces regularly by wiping them with a soft, damp cloth.

  • To remove tarnish, buff gently with a polishing cloth.

  • Worth noting: polishing cloths can be abrasive so apply gentle pressure and don’t over polish.

3 / Sterling Silver
  • Proactive maintenance is the best way to prolong the lifespan of sterling silver.

  • Clean by wiping with a soft, damp cloth. To remove tarnish, buff gently with a silver polishing cloth.

  • Ultrasonic cleaners are safe to use on silver jewelry.

  • Please note: If you’re wearing pieces made of oxidized silver, they will need to be cleaned differently. Oxidized silver products have a special finish, so we recommend a dry clean—no water or silver cleaning polish—otherwise finish may rub off entirely.
